Starcraft 2 is the new Dance Dance Revolution. Never thought I'd be addicted to a video game again.

I had to take a week off from working out because of some weird back injury that I sustained at some point. I'm all better now, and yesterday was my first day back. Hopefully I'll have no further interruptions.
Getting a real job is so hard. If anyone has any advice, let me know. I know that the job market is tough, but I don't like using that as an excuse.
My father stopped responding to me on Facebook. Over a month ago, he said that he had in-laws over and that he would respond when he had the time. Riiiiiiight. Haven't heard from him since. That settles that.
Oh yeah, since I won't have an HDTV for much longer, I took the time to beat Resident Evil 5 the other night. Awesome game! I think that I like it more than RE4, which was already one of my favorite games ever.

Now that I'm back on this LiVEJOURNAL kick, I've decided to look back at some of my entries from 2004 and 2005.
Jesus fucking Christ. I don't know where to begin. First of all, I don't remember a lot of this shit happening. Adam, Levin, Steven, and I had these exploding rubber balls that shot liquid everywhere? I was proud of my virginity? And a lot of these LJ usernames that I see commenting on my shit aren't ringing any bells for me. But at the same time, I'm recalling a lot of shit that I had forgotten for years. This is pretty fun, actually. I'll read more entries when I'm not exhausted.
Big ups to Andrew West Horton and Catherine Wells for being here since essentially the beginning; you two pretty much the last ones standing.

So yeah, so much for me having my second off day since the 16th today. Immediately after I finished working out with Edgar, my Disney job called me and offered me an eight hour lead shift for later in the day. And today was Easter, so I picked up some nice holiday bonus money that I wasn't counting on getting. Woop woop. The grind continues tomorrow morning as I'm right back to work at 10am sharp. Why am I still awake?
Working out with Edgar was awesome, by the way. He's put me on to a great workout routine, and he is encouraging me to visit the gym every single day for the next three weeks, with today counting as day one. This will be tough, especially for someone that works as much as I do, but my will and focus is on point, and I'm confident that I can follow through with this endeavor.

Looking through old LiveJournal entries that I wrote between 2005 and 2007 bring back some pretty fucking horrible memories. Even though I was a relatively happy person at the time, I now don't think that I had much of anything to be happy about back then. Life is a lot better now.

| What have I been up to lately? |
[13 Jun 2009|01:28am] |
1. Nichole and I are doing well. We've been together for two months as of yesterday, and she surprised me with a collage of pictures of us in a picture frame to commemorate the occasion. I can't look at it without smiling.
2. I've been officially through with DDR for a few months now. 2008 will be remembered as the year that I finally left the dance game scene (or what's left of it), as I haven't shown my face at any of the bonfires, potlucks, or 5 entrant Swiss tournaments in roughly a year. 2009 will be remembered as the year where I stopped playing dancing games altogether. Also, DDR X looks terrible (like, almost ITG bad), so I doubt that any future release will sway me from this position unless Konami gets their shit together and really wows me. I still think DDR is fun and I'd recommend the game to almost anyone that has never played it, but I think it's good to know when to move on. Frankly, I think it's kind of sad that it took me this long, and I give Simone Litonjua full permission to make fun of me some more for it.
3. I graduated a couple of weekends ago. Hello, BA. Fuck off, college.
4. Still working at Disneyland, sadly. I was informed two weeks ago by one of my managers that I'm being promoted to lead status, but I'm still ready to drop Disney like a bad habit as soon as I find a better job. Now that I'm a college grad, I really have no excuse to be working there for much longer.
5. Still really good-looking. Some things never change.
6. I like basketball now. Why the fuck did it take me this long to get interested in a competitive professional sport? Watching Laker games with Edgar Nunez is a blast. The Magic might as well not even show up to LA on Sunday, by the way.
7. I want to pick up a martial art. I really liked the self-defense course that I took last semester, and now I want to learn an actual fighting style. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu looks really good to me right now, and sometime soon I plan on researching some good dojos in the area. Unfortunately, I don't have much time to do that (or much of anything, these days) because...
8. Working 40 hour weeks is making me realize how much I don't like working 40 hour weeks.
9. I'm now a vegetarian. Its done wonders for my sleeping habits and energy levels, let me tell ya.

Yesterday, I:
- Attended my graduation ceremony and got my BA degree - Introduced my friends (including my girlfriend) to my family, and my family to them - Had an awesome post-grad lunch with everyone at Hometown Buffet - Spent time relaxing in my pool with some buddies - Drank with Edgar - Was given a digital camera and a combined total of $1525 for graduation gifts - Bought lots of pizza - Finished the night at an improv comedy show
And to think, someone tried to get me to go to the Swiss ITG X whatever thing that apparently went on yesterday.

Also, to Ryan, Friday evening was my first time playing DDR Universe 3. And by that I mean the actual game on an Xbox 360, not a bunch of simfiles on StepMania. Great game.

This vacation that I'm taking down here in SD was long overdue. This is a nice break from school, a nice break from work, and a nice break from a bunch of drama that has been dumped on me over the past couple of days. Methinks I'll be something of a hermit for the next several days while I recharge.
Today, I got out my N64 and started playing games that I hadn't touched in years. I've been playing the shit out of Goldeneye 007 and Banjo-Kazooie and loving every minute of it. I noticed that my time log for my old B-K save dictates that I logged over 62 hours into that game. Hahaha...sounds about right. The absence of awesome games like these is probably the biggest reason why I kinda fell out of gaming. Is there a 3D platformer that is as good as the N64's best platformers yet? Is there a FPS that meshes action along with stealth while providing awesome level design and challenging stage missions as good as Goldeneye 007 did?
